The “meromissi” is a very rare phenomenon which takes place in the Cadagno lake and in very few lakes on the planet. The water of the lake is separated into two layers that never get mixed. The top layer is rich in oxygen and is therefore ideal for the fishes; the water on the bottom, where only a few micro-organisms can survive, does not contain any oxigen.
