A trip with one of the steepest funicular in the world is a real exiting experience (maximum steepness 87.8%). The funicular departure station is located in Piotta.
How to reach the funicular by car
Highway Exit Nr. 42 Quinto, follow the “Funicolare Ritom” sign.
How to reach the funiculare by train/bus
From the Airolo train station take the yellow bus and get off at “Piotta Posta” (5 minutes from Airolo). From the bus stop walk to the funicular station (10 minutes away). Train/bus time table website www.sbb.ch.
